Q: What do I need to submit with my CASC Recertification Report?
A: Please submit certificates of completion for ALL conferences you attended. For courses offered by Unapproved Providers, you should submit the Unapproved AEU Form along with the appropriate documentation for the course you attended (see that form for more details).
If you attended a course and did not receive a certificate, please contact the organization that offered the program for proof of attendance.
Q: How do I know if an organization is an Approved Provider?
A: Approved providers state their provider number in promotional materials and on the continuing education certificate for the conference. A current list of many of our three-year providers appears here.
For courses taken from an organization not listing a provider number in their promotional materials, you must fill out an Unapproved AEU Form and submit the supporting materials requested on that form.
Q: I noticed an organization I took a class from is not yet an Approved Provider. How can I encourage them to become one?
A: We are always looking for new organizations to add to our list of Approved Providers. Please feel free to suggest to organizations which offer the classes you take that they should apply to become an Approved Provider in order to be able to offer Administrator Education Units. They should call the CASC office for more information and an application (703.836.4871).
Q: How do I know what content areas to use for the courses I attended?
A: Some of our approved providers list the content areas for specific sessions in their meeting materials. If the conference provider does not list the applicable content area for the session you attended, you should list your hours under the area you think is most appropriate to the content of the session. If more than one content area applies, you may split the total hours among the appropriate content areas. As a reminder, the five content areas are Delivery of Patient Care, Human Resources, Quality Management, Financial and Regulatory & Legal Issues. See the exam Content Outline for more information.
Q: I wasn't able to attend the minimum number of hours this year. Should I still submit my Recertification Report?
A: Yes. You may apply for an extension by writing a letter and submitting your form listing any courses you were able to attend and the fee for this year. Extensions are approved on a case-by-case basis by our Board President. Please contact the CASC Office with questions.

We are thrilled that our COO maintains the CASC credential. It represents a depth of knowledge and understanding of a broad range of essential aspects pertinent to running an ASC. Hiring a CASC credentialed administrator gave our Board of Directors confidence in her ability to manage our center into the future."
